This is a sketch for a reasonable scenario of life on a planet orbiting an F2-type star. Such stars are brighter than our Sun, but still believed to be life-friendly. On this world, plants need all kinds of protective pigments to prevent their leaves from overheating and to shield themselves against ultraviolet radiation. On Earth, plants discard the green wavelenghts of sunlight. Vegetation under an F-star may discard the red wavelenghts, as the shorter parts of the spectrum deliver already all the photons they need for photosynthesis.
